Anise Biscotti

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp anise seeds
4 eggs
2 TBS softened butter

Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly grease a large cookie sheet. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, anise seeds. Add eggs and butter beating on medium speed on well mixed. Use a wooden spoon if dough becomes too stiff. Divide dough into four, 5-inch rolls. Place the rolls on prepared pan flattening slightly. Bake 25 minutes until light golden brown. Still on the pan, cool for one hour on a wire rack. Preheat oven to 350F. Cut each roll diagonally into ¾-inch slices. Place slices, cut sides down on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Turn slices over and bake for 10 more minutes or until crisp. Transfer to wire rack and cool.
