White Rollout Sugar Cookies
These cookies have been a tradition in our family that my mom has made since I was a child.
Ingredients
- 2c sugar
- 1c shortening
- 1c milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbl vanilla
- 3 Tbl baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 5-6 c flour
Instructions
- Blend first five ingredients with electric mixer.
- Mix dry ingredients together and then mix into wet ingredients.
- Roll out on floured surface to about 1/4" thickness. Use cookie cutters to make cookies. Transfer to baking sheets.
- Bake 8-10 minutes at 350°
- Cool and frost as desired.
Notes
My kids and now grandkids enjoy making them several times a year, especially at Christmas time. I make homemade frosting and use decorating tips to create beautiful cookies.
