Description
To use whole nutmeg, you’ll need to grate or grind it before adding it to your recipes. Freshly grated nutmeg provides a more potent and aromatic flavor than pre-ground nutmeg. A microplane grater or a specialized nutmeg grinder is recommended for grating. The outer red shell, known as mace, can also be used, either whole or ground.
Usage: Use in cakes, cookies, soups, stews, sausages, meats, fruits and eggnog.
