
Indian Turmeric Lentil Dal
Features: Turmeric & Cumin
Ingredients
- 1 cup red lentils
 - 3 cups water or vegetable broth
 - 1 onion chopped
 - 2 cloves garlic minced
 - 1 tsp turmeric
 - 1 tsp cumin
 - 1 tomato diced
 - 1 Tbsp oil or ghee vegan if preferred
 - Salt to taste
 - Cilantro garnish
 
Instructions
- Rinse lentils under cold water.
 - In a pot, heat oil. Sauté onion, garlic, cumin, and turmeric until fragrant.
 - Add lentils, tomato, and water. Bring to boil.
 - Reduce heat, simmer uncovered 20–25 minutes until lentils are soft.
 - Add salt to taste and garnish with cilantro.
